Saidi Balogun Initiates Son Into Nollywood

Nigerian ace movie producer and actor, Saidi Balogun has finally ushered his first son, Jamal, into acting. This is in a new movie titled ‘Funfun’ produced by the Nollywood star.

Interestingly, Jamal is one of the two children the Nollywood star had with from another woman, Sherifat, a singer, before the Ibadan-born versatile actor met his colleague in the industry, Fathia Williams who had two children named Khalid and Aliya for him.

Jamal’s role as Tobi in the movie has shown that the young lad is ready to make waves in the industry.

His acting prowess and level of role interpretation in the new flick from the stable of his father is definitely an evidence of the fact that acting is running in the bloodline of the family.

The movie, which has two parts has been trending online and recorded over a hundred thousand views within a few weeks of release online.

Saidi Balogun could be described as a showbiz revolutionist having initiated a lot of innovations into the scene for instance he was the first and only producer to produce two cast movie, also he produced an all-through Ankara movie ‘Eti Keta’, and notably, he also had a movie where 99% of the cast was white men which he happened to be the only tropical black man on the flick titled “You or I”.

He began acting in 1978 when he presented his first television program titled “Youth Today” on NTA. He produced his first film titled ‘City Girl’ in 1989. He had over the years featured, produced, and directed several Nigerian films.
