Former Aviation Minister and Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has commended Oyo State, Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde for his giant strides in transforming the Pace Setter State to what he described as 21st century standard through his numerous structural projects that cut across the State.
Chief Femi Fani-Kayode who has been in Ibadan the State Capital for some days to access projects embarked on by the State government under the leadership of  Engr. Seyi Makinde and PDP led administration expressed his satisfaction at the level of development he met.
He said that the State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has brought his private sector experience to bear in developing the state.
Fani-Kayode, at a press briefing with newsmen in the State, affirmed that the governor has made progress at a “remarkable and extraordinary pace.”
The former Minister noted that despite the fact that Governor Makinde has only been in office for a year, the developmental activities of his administration point to greater things to come.
Chief Fani Kayode also in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Makinde, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, noted that he arrived Ibadan a couple of days and was taken round some projects completed and embarked upon by the administration, including the ongoing remodeling of the 44-year-old Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan; the Oyo State Security Trust Fund-controlled Security Control Room, which harbors the City Watch Project; the ongoing 68-kilometer Moniya-Iseyin Road project; the Infectious Disease Centre, Olodo.

He said: “One thing I appreciate is, despite the fact that Governor Makinde has been in office for just a year, look at what has done, what you see is the beginning of greater things to come.
“And you see that what has been done within seven or eight months, minus COVID-19 months, means his activities of governance have been remarkable and extraordinary. We really need to know that they are not joking here and that they mean business.
“The concept, ideas, and pace at which the work is being done are awesome. By December, people will see a lot of remarkable structures all over the place here.
While speaking on the purpose of his visit, Fani-Kayode said that he is on a fact-finding mission, adding that he is not disappointed with what he has seen so far, as according to him, the evidence of good governance on ground matched the adulations being accorded Governor Makinde across the country.
He said: “About three weeks ago, I traveled to a few states and it was a wonderful experience. And now, I decided to come back to my base; South-West. I have been here for the past few days basically trying to see the work that has been done by the governor, who is a good friend of mine.
