INEC confirmed the safe rescued of staff.
News Rain Nigeria reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Ad – hoc Staff that was capsized in Ese Odo Local Government part of Ondo State have been rescued.

According to the Chief Press Secretary to INEC chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi who confirmed the development, he said: “I am told all our ad-Hoc staff were safely evacuated.”
Oyekanmi dismissed any fears of casualties, citing earlier reports that suggested all were rescued.
Recall that INEC Ad – hoc Staff were earlier today reported having capsized with the boat conveying them with the electoral materials while on their way to some riverine areas in Ese Odo Local Government Area of the State.

The wooden boat conveying the ad – hoc and the electoral materials was said to have encountered a strong wave and current.
However, 15 people, including the ad – hoc Staff have been safely rescued from the river.
Oyekanmi also noted that the Commission will still issue a statement as regards the whole issue as soon as details of the incident become available.

He noted that the Videos of the local divers helping ad-hoc staff to safety have gone viral is some platforms.
The wooden boat was said to have encountered a strong wave and current.
Some of the ad-hoc staff were seen in videos of the incident swimming to safety or to join other boats on the mission.
