News Rain Nigeria reports that the Deji of Akure on Monday described the late Madam Abigail Makinde as a worthy daughter of Akure kingdom.
The Deji of Akure, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi Ogunlade Odundun II, who was represented by a delegation led by Senior High Chief, the Asae of Akure kingdom, Chief Sola Adegbonmire described the sudden death of late Madam Abigail Makinde as a painful loss to the entire Akure kingdom.
Akure Delegation Visits Gov Makinde Over Mother’s Demise
Oba Aladelusi in his condolence message to the Makinde family said, the late Madam Abigail Makinde was a worthy daughter of Akure kingdom, who hailed from the Omoregie family, who are well known as exceptional and wonderful people in Akureland.
The Monarch, however through the condolence message prayed that God would grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Governor Makinde, while receiving the Deji’s delegation said the Akure people are known to be the most upright, bold, and honest in Yoruba land and the nation at large.
Governor Makinde also described his late mother as a role model whose dedication to work, uprightness, boldness, and honesty were the traits of the Akure people.
Makinde through a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Mr. Taiwo Adisa said “when you see an average Akure man or woman, you see courage and see people who are true to their words.”
The governor said he was very delighted with the visit and urged the Akure people, the kingdom where his mother was born, to actively participate in her funeral, which he said will hold in the first week of December.
Governor Makinde used the occasion to appreciate the people of Akure for standing firm during the October 10 governorship election in Ondo State, adding that they had shown their readiness to produce the governor of the state.
“However, we will continue to appeal to other divisions and senatorial districts to be on the same page with Akure,” the governor said.
