Tragedy! Trailer Crush Civilian To Death In Attempt To Get Covid-19 Palliatives
One unknown person has been crushed to death in Akwa.
New Rain Nigeria reports that one yet to be identified person has been crushed to death in his attempt to get foodstuff from a trailer suspected to have carried Covid-19 palliatives in Akwa part of Anambra State.
According to an eyewitness who confirmed the incident, the victim was among one of the youths that were protesting against the police brutality in the State.

He said, the youths in their hundreds stormed a private business company that produces Anambra rice and upon getting there saw a trailer that conveyed Covid-19 palliatives and in the process, the youths climbed on top of the truck, and the particular boy fell off the truck in his attempt to get the food and was crushed by the moving trailer.
The angry youths were said to have also invaded and looted the State internally generated office before heading to the rice company.
News Rain Nigeria gathered that the victim was rushed to hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival to the hospital.
The eyewitness who pleaded anonymously also said that it took the combined efforts of soldiers and men of the police force to successfully foil an attempt by the youths to break into the warehouse of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) in Anambra State, where the palliatives were stored by the state government earlier in the morning.
According to another eyewitness who pleaded anonymously but also confirmed the incident said, the youths had waited till about 3 pm after one of the trailers left the warehouse with some food palliatives but it did not go far before the youths successfully ambushed and looted the contents.

He noted that the ENdSARS peaceful protest has been hijacked by some hoodlums who are now using it to loot people of their warehouses.
He said the first trailer was ambushed at Aroma Junction while moving foodstuffs to an undisclosed location. The foodstuffs which include bags of rice, noodles among others, were hijacked by mobs and in the process, one person got crushed by the moving trailer.
He also said that the sales depot of a private business concern, at Agu Awka area was also broken into by the youths, who looted bags of local rice stored in it by the company.
Some soldiers have been deployed to the affected areas to further maintain law and order.
