Fayemi Presents N109.6 Billion Budget To Ekiti Assembly For 2021

Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has presented a sum of N109.666,376,722.61 appropriation bill before the State House of Assembly for passage.

News Rain Nigeria gathered that the Ekiti State Governor on Tuesday presented the budget composed of N52billion for capital expenditure and N57 billion as recurrent expenditure to the Ekiti State House of Assembly.

The budget tagged: ‘Budget of  Recovery and Economic  Restoration’ was presented before the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Funminiyi Afuye and other members of the Assembly for passage.

Fayemi explained that the budget proposal was a product of consultation and meetings with members of the public through town hall meetings.

He said the budget was judiciously tailored towards good governance and economic recovery for Ekiti state and its people.

He said the budget would be funded through federal allocation, value-added tax, Internally Generated Revenue as well as support from development partners.

Speaking on the implementation of the 2020 budget Governor Fayemi explained that though the pandemic created a big challenge, his government was able to deliver on the budget through prompt payment of salaries, free education, free health care for the vulnerable members, the inauguration of many noble projects among others.

The Governor however announced his determination to commence the payment of the consequential adjustment for the thirty thousand new minimum wages for workers from grade level eight and above noting that the necessary requirements have been captured in the budget.

He also promised to build health centers across the one hundred and seventy-four wards across the state so as to enhance the health care system.
