ENDSARS: Lagos Promise Scholarship To Children Of Slain Officers

Lagos govt. has promised to offer scholarships to children of slain officers.
News Rain Nigeria reports that the Lagos State Government on Wednesday promised to foot all the academic bills of children of the slain policemen that lost their lives in the aftermath of the ENDSARS protests.
The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Samwo Olu made the disclosure during his visit to the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja.
Mr. Babatunde during his interaction with police personnel on how effective policing can be achieved in the state, commended the doggedness of the and officers of the Police Force for their dedication to the service of the people of Lagos.

He also maintained that the Police are the front liners noted also that they were the source of joy to humanity.
Governor Sanwo Olu during the interaction meeting announced that State Government would set up Rebuild Lagos Trust Fund in the aftermath of the destruction in the state, he added that the State is ready to offer a scholarship to the Children of the policemen that were killed during the ENDSARS protest.
He said, that the scholarship scheme will be effective at the university level, maintained that the process will serve as compensation for the families of the slain officers.
Governor Sanwo Olu also said that the State Government will foot the bills of the wounded officers, he added that the government will take care of the burial expenses of the murdered policemen and replace all damaged personal and official vehicles of Police officers, as well as work towards insurance policy for Lagos police officers.
Sanwo Olu at the interaction meeting with the Police officers in Ikeja said, “How do we take Lagos forward, how do we heal our wounds? It’s about not looking back but looking forward. Lagos would not look back again. As your governor, I take full responsibility for what happened and has not happened. I will not shy from it. We will foot all the hospital bills of injured policemen.
