Ondo Governorship Election: Jegede Heads To Tribunal, Challenges Akeredolu’s Victory
Eyitayo Jegede has headed to court to challenge Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s election in Ondo State.
News Rain Nigeria gathered that barely three weeks after the Ondo State Governorship Election, the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate in the election, Eyitayo Jegede, has approached the election petition tribunal to challenge the results of the poll.
Having studied the results and not satisfied, the PDP candidate has headed to the tribunal to challenge the results on Friday.

It will be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu in the October 2020 gubernatorial election in Ondo State, as the winner of the election, having scored the highest number of the total votes cast in the election.
According to INEC, Akeredolu defeated Jegede and the candidates of other political parties in the poll.
The new development in Ondo State was confirmed by the state Publicity Secretary of the PDP in the state, Mr. Kennedy Peretei
