Lagos Issues 7-Day Quit Notice To Illegal Squatters
Lagos State has ordered seven days order of Illegal shanties from Fagba.
News Rain Nigeria reports that the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences during the weekend has issued a 7- day ultimatum ‘Removal Order’ to owners and hosts of all the illegal structures in Fagba, Abbatior, and new Oko – Oba parts of the State.

The Enforcement Taskforce Unit of the Lagos Environmental Ministry, stressed that all the illegal shanties including, all the containerized shops around the aforementioned areas are to be removed within the ultimatum period.
The disclosure which was made known to the public, through a Press Release by the Head of the Public Affairs Unit of the Taskforce, noted that the CSP. Olayinka Egbeyemi, who led the enforcement team of the Agency to the area, maintained that nearly 2500 Illegal structures in the area were occupied by hoodlums and miscreants who burnt and destroyed both public and private Properties along the area during the aftermath of the ENDSARS protests.
All the owners and occupiers of 2500, Illegal shanties, and structures have been served ‘Removal Order’ and were expected to vacate the premises before the end of the seven days ultimatum.
CSP. Egbeyemi, recall that as part of the on-spot assessment of the extent of destruction of both public and private properties by miscreants and hoodlums during the last protest, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police CP Hakeem Odumosu visited Fagba along Abbatior new Oko-Oba area”.
He said It was an eye-sore with miscreants and hoodlums freely smoking Indian hemp including underage boys around the area”
Egbeyemi further stressed that the residents around Fagba along Abbatoir’s new Oko-Oba area could no longer sleep with their two eyes closed as a result of a series of criminal activities perpetrated by the notorious boys in the area.
Egbeyemi also stressed that the State Environmental Taskforce would not relent in securing a safe environment for citizens within the State and the country as a whole.
CSP. Egbeyemi according to the statement also confirmed that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police CP Hakeem Odumosu has directed that immediately after the expiration of the 7 days ‘Removal Order” any miscreants or hoodlums arrested in the area will be charged to court for proper prosecution.
