EndSARS: Court Remands 3 Suspects For Allegedly Killing Policemen, Burning Police Station
Three suspects have been remanded over the killing of police officers.
News Rain Nigeria reports that the Ebonyi State Magistrate Court has on Monday, 9th November 2020, remanded three suspects for allegedly killing two police officers and also responsible for burning down Police station in the State during the violence of ENDSARS aftermath protests.
The suspects are alleged that they set the Police station on fire, after killing the two officers and thereafter, looted their belongings at the station.
News Rain Nigeria gathered that so far, almost five suspects were said to have been arraigned and remanded for allegedly burning down police stations and other offenses, in the state.

The suspects committed the offense at the Central Police Station, Abakaliki, in the Abakaliki Local Government Area of the state, on October 26, 2020.
The suspects were arraigned on four counts charges of felony, murder, arson, and armed robbery, before the Magistrate’s Court.
Police Prosecutor, Inspector Chinedu Mbam, told the court that the offense was punishable under sections 324, 319(1), 443(a), and 390(9) of the Criminal Code Cap. 33, Vol. 1, Laws of Ebonyi State of Nigeria, 2009.
The charge read in part, “That you Ifeanyi Nwosu ‘m’, Ikechukwu Nwosu ‘m’, Edwin Ebubechi ‘m’ and others now at large, on the 26th day of October 2020, at the Central Police Station Headquarters, Abakaliki, in the Abakaliki Magisterial District did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit; murder and arson and thereby committed an offense punishable under section 324 of the Criminal Code Cap. 33, Vol. 1, Laws of Ebonyi State of Nigeria, 2009.
The name of the suspects was given as Ifeanyi Nwosu, 22; Ikechukwu Nwosu, 18; and Edwin Ebubechi, 19, were alleged to have killed Inspector Egwu Omini and PC Paul Akpu, both males, by gunning them down, at the Central Police Station, Abakaliki metropolis.
The suspect was said to have stolen one motorcycle, generator, Plasma TV and other valuables, belongings of occupants of a building located close to the burnt police station.
The case was presided over by Chief Magistrate, Mrs. B. I. Chukwu has been adjourned till November 26, 2020, as the suspects were directed to be remanded at the Nigerian Correctional Centre, Abakaliki, and their case file transferred to the DPP, for necessary decision.
