EndSARS: We Can’t Be Deterred By Protests-FRSC Boss

The FRSC boss says Corps are ready to always ensure safer roads.
News Rain Nigeria reports that the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra State Command has pledged its commitment towards ensuring safer roads for motorists.
The State command also maintained that they are committed to ensuring safer roads and environments for members of the public.

EndSARS: We Can’t Be Deterred By Protests-FRSC Boss

Commander Andrew Kumapayi, who is the State Sector of Corps on Monday, 9th November 2020 at the event marking this year World Day of Remembrance for Victims of Road Traffic Crashes.
The theme of this year event is ‘Remember, Support, Act’
According to the Sector Commander, Kumapayi who said the trauma occasioned by the recent #EndSARS protest was not enough to deter his officers and men from rendering quality and efficient services to the people of the state.
Kumapayi stressed that our men have been instructed to go back to work. It’s a service we’re rendering to the motoring public. In spite of the assault on our staff, we’re fully committed to providing quality service to Nigerians.
He said that “our sensitization has already started with visits to churches, mosques, and parks to emphasize the need to imbibe safety consciousness.
“I’ve directed my men to operate within the highway where the crashes are high. We’ll leave the townships to the state-owned traffic agencies,”
Commander Kumapayi maintained that It’s on record that our staff have been maimed, assaulted, killed in course of carrying out their responsibilities. But we won’t fold our hands and allow innocent citizens to die on our roads.
“At the same time, we’re very mindful of our safety because we’re not armed. Thank God people have started clamoring that FRSC should carry arms.’
The FRSC boss however called for more dedication from relevant stakeholders to the success of a safer road environment, just as he assured continuous synergy towards the pursuance of public enlightenment programs and aggressive enforcement of traffic rules and regulations.
