Nigerian Senate: Lawan Swears-In Abiru, Dickson, Others
Senate President Ahmad Lawan has swore-in recently elected senators.
News Rain Nigeria gathered that the Senate President on Tuesday sworn-in the new senators which include Senator Adetokunbo Abiru (Lagos East), Senator Henry Seriake Dickson (Bayelsa West), Senator Cleopas Moses (Bayelsa Central), and Senator Nora Ladi Dadu’ut (Plateau South).
The Clerk to the Senate, Ibrahim El-Ladan, administered the Oath of Office and Oath of Allegiance on the new Senators.

Recall that in the Lagos East Bye Election on Saturday, December 5, 2020, the Independent National Electoral Commission declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Tokunbo Abiru as the winner of the bye-election.
According to the results announced by INEC, Abiru polled a total of 89,204 votes while his major contender Babatunde Gbadamosi, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), secured 11,257 votes.
Also in Bayelsa West, Dickson was declared winner. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared former Governor Seriake Dickson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as winner of the December 5 Bayelsa West senatorial by-election.
INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Okechukwu Okeke, of the Federal University Otuoke, (FUO) said Mr Dickson polled 115,257 votes to defeat his closest rival, Peremobowei Ebebi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled 17,500 votes.
Eleven political parties participated at the election.
So also Senator Cleopas Moses (Bayelsa Central), and Senator Nora Ladi Dadu’ut (Plateau South) won in their respective Senatorial Districts.
