Endsars: Oyo POWA Donates Cash Gift To Wives Of Slain Officers

Oyo POWA has donated to the wives of the slained officers.

 

News Rain Nigeria reports that Oyo State Chapter of the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA), has on Thursday sympathized and donated cash gifts to the wives of the slained officers that were gruesomely lynched by hoodlums during the aftermath of the EndSARS protests.

Leading the POWA delegations during the cash presentation was the  wife of the State Commissioner of police,  Dr. Mrs Miriam Enwonwu.

Dr. Mrs. Enwonwu while presenting the cash donations to wives of slain officers stressed that the token was to show that police share in their grieve.

Enwonwu noted that the association would continue to push for them whenever they are having challenges in getting entitlement of their husbands.

She maintained that POWA invited the  affected wives of the officers purposely to sympathise with them.

She said: ”I invited you to share your pains. You are wives of police officers and our members. We are one family. I pray God gives you fortitude to bear the loss. We are also using this opportunity to show you that we care for you.

“We don’t have much but we will give you a token. We will continue to push for you wherever there is need for that. We will push for authority to fulfill their promises.

If you are having any challenges, please feel free to approach POWA. We have been supporting our members in time of distress over the years and we shall continue to do that. Our liaison officer is here and I can assure you that she would continue to help you,” she said.

While commending Oyo State POWA on behalf of other beneficiaries, the wife of inspector Abegunde Peters, Mrs. Sikiratu Abegunde said the gesture was appreciated.

She said, “we shall continue to appreciate the wife of the commissioner for her supports.”
