NSCDC has deployed over 2000 officers to maintain law and order during festive celebration.
News Rain Nigeria reports that the Oyo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has on Wednesday disclosed the deployment of not less than 2050 of its personnel to some strategic point in the state, just to ensure that the citizens and residents have a crime free Christmas and New year celebration.
The State Command according to a press release that was issued and signed to the development by the State Command Public Relation Officer, CD. Oluwole Olusegun, stated that the Oyo State Commandant of Corps, CC. Iskilu Akinsanya, on Tuesday while addressing journalists promoted officers at the command Headquarters.
The State Commandant also congratulate the citizens and residents in advance, stressing that all the Corps have been trained and retrained on the mode of operations on how to operate before, during and after the Christmas and New year celebration.
Commandant Iskilu reinstated that Corps are patriotic personnel, and they have been expected to discharge their duty with high quality of professionalism.
Iskilu through the statement stated that all the Christian faithful should make use of the festive season to pray for the survival of the Country, and to embrace love which is paramount to nations growth and development.
According to the statement which also quoted Iskilu, he implored religious leaders and well meaningful Nigerians to warn their children and wards to desist from any act that can threaten the peace of the State.
The State Commandant stressed that the Corps will not hesitate to arrest and prosecute anyone included in violence.
He said, the residents should not hesitate to call the distress line of the Command should in case they suspects any criminal activities in their area.
