Akeredolu CoP, Driver Confirmed Dead-See Details

Akeredolu CoP and driver has been confirmed dead.

News Rain Nigeria reports that the Chief of Protocol to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State and his driver has been confirmed dead through an auto crash that occurred on Saturday, at along Ilesha/Akure Highway.

The late Chief of Protocol, Tosin Ogunbodede and his driver  reportedly died on their way to Akure while coming from a visit  in Ibadan, Oyo State Capital.

While confirming their deaths, the State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Donald Ojogo, through a Press Statement issue to the effect, stated that the sad incident occurred at about 7.45 pm along Ilesa-Akure road on Saturday, January 2, 2020.”

Ojogo maintained that the late CoP died in a ghastly car crash after a private visit to an uncle in Ibadan, Professor Benjamin Ogunbodede who has been ill for sometime.

He died alongside his driver after the private Toyota Corolla car that conveyed them rammed into a trailer.

According to the statement by Ojogo, the remains of the CoP ” arrived Owo, his hometown today(Sunday).

Ojogo maintained that while alive, Ogunbodede, discharged his assigned duties with utmost attention and responsibility, stressing that he had been a very loyal political lieutenant of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, over the years.

However the State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has with a heavy heart, enjoin all to take solace in the fact of God’s infallibility who giveth and taketh, he also expressed the heartfelt condolence of his immediate family, government and the good people of Ondo state to the wife, children as well as the family of his late CoP.

The statement maintained that the death of the CoP is a personal loss to Governor Akeredolu, stressing that It even becomes more emotional when it’s recalled that the loyal and dedicated Tosin stopped by at the governor’s law hub, Ibadan, to greet his principal while returning to Akure from his uncle’s residence.
