Olugbodi Of The Sun Newspaper Has Emerged Oyo SWAN Deputy Chairman. News Rain Nigeria reports that Olugbenga Olugbodi a photojournalist of the Sun Newspaper in Ibadan has on Thursday, 18th February 2021been elected unopposed during a Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), congress held at the premises of the Nigerian Union Of Journalists (NUJ), Iyaganku, Ibadan.
Briefing Journalists shortly after the Congress, the State Chairman of the SWAN, Comrade Niyi Alebiosu said, the election become necessary to fill the vacant space in the executive so as to move the association forward.
Olugbodi Emerges Oyo SWAN Deputy Chairman
Alebiosu further stressed that Oyo SWAN used to be at the forefront of sports writing and other sporting activities in Nigeria, and the need to come together and reclaim our glory, let’s all hands be on deck so that we can achieve our aims and objectives.
Alebiosu however calls on the SWAN members to unite and come together to fight for the progress of the union.
Also speaking shortly after his victory at the Congress, Comrade Olugbenga Olugbodi expressed his appreciations to the SWAN, as well as OyoNUJ for the opportunity given to him to serve.
The newly vice Chairman however promised his absolute commitments towards moving the association forward.
The newly elected officers that sworn in alongside the State SWAN Vice-Chairman are Comrade Olawale Hamzat financial secretary, Blessing Fowowe Assistant Secretary, and Ola Olanrewaju Ex-officio.
