Governor Hope Uzodimma‘s house has been set on fire by gunmen.
News Rain Nigeria reports that the gunmen invaded the Governor’s residence in Omuma in Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State, southeast Nigeria in the early hours of Saturday, April 24, 2021, setting the governor’s house on fire.
This online news platform understands that apart from setting Governor Hope Uzodimma’s house on fire, the gunmen reportedly killed two security men on duty before torching it.
Reports have it that vehicles parked at the compound and part of the building were affected by the fire.
Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, confirmed the incident in a chat with The Nation.
The Commissioner said: “It is true but the information is not still clear. It is not true that several security men lost their lives. About two security men on duty at the governor’s house were killed. NSCDC personnel was among the security men who lost their lives during the attack.”
