According to an eyewitness, the fire was caused by an electrical spark from an electric cable that fell on the Ikorodu road just before the Maryland tunnel.
However, the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, as well as the Lagos State Emergency Agency, LASEMA, are yet to make an official announcement on the matter.
It was learnt that the incident caused gridlock in the area as passengers, residents, and passers-by scampered to safety.
