ICYMI: Checkout Full Details Of Queen Elizabeth II Funeral Date And Time Here

According to Buckingham Palace, the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II will hold in London at 11 a.m on Monday, Sept. 19.

Buckingham Palace shared more details of the coming days and confirmed that the Queen’s state funeral will be held at Westminster Abbey at 11 a.m. BST on Monday September 19.

In a touching move, six Balmoral estate gamekeepers will load her coffin onto a Hearse.

This will make the solemn drive to her official Scottish residence in Edinburgh, the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

There, her coffin will lie in the Throne Room before traveling to St Giles Cathedral on the afternoon of Monday, September 12 where it will rest until the following day.

It will travel by air to London on Tuesday, September 13, arriving at 8 p.m.

Her Lying-in-State at Westminster Hall will begin on Wednesday, September 14, ending on the morning of the funeral.

“As the person with overall responsibility for delivering the funeral, let me end by saying that, together with so many colleagues from within The Royal Household, the Armed Forces, the Police, and other institutions of Church and State, we will carry out our duty over the coming days with the heaviest of hearts,” the Earl Marshall, Duke of Norfolk, said.

The Earl Marshall is responsible for the organization of state occasions. “But also, with the firmest of resolve to ensure a fitting farewell to one of the defining figures of our times; a monarch whom we were truly privileged to have had as the Head of State of our country and the Realms, and Head of the wider Commonwealth…I think we can, in some way, repay that debt by carrying out her last wishes in delivering Her Majesty The Queen’s Funeral.”

Queen Elizabeth approved the funeral plans and all the arrangements for the days ahead.

Following the funeral, she will be laid to rest alongside her parents, sister, and husband in the King George VI memorial chapel in St George’s Chapel, Windsor.

Below are details of the activities;

Sunday, September 11

10 am: The Queen’s coffin leaves Balmoral Castle on a Hearse and travels by road to the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

4 pm: The Queen’s coffin arrives at the Palace of Holyroodhouse and is taken to the Throne Room.

Monday, September 12

Am: King Charles and the Queen Consort will fly to Edinburgh. The king will take part in the ceremony of the keys on arrival at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

2.35 pm: The Queen’s coffin leaves the Palace of Holyroodhouse and travels in a procession to St Giles’s Cathedral. The King and members of the royal family will follow on foot and in cars.

2.55 pm: The Queen’s coffin will be carried into the Cathedral where it remains after the service.

The king and family members will hold an evening vigil.

Tuesday, September 13

Am: The King and Queen Consort will travel to Belfast.

5 pm: The Queen’s coffin will travel in a Hearse to Edinburgh Airport, departing on an RAF plane at 6 pm.

6.55 pm: The Queen’s coffin arrives in RAF Northolt.

8 pm: The Queen’s coffin arrives in London and travels to Buckingham Palace where it is greeted by a Guard of Honor as the King and members of the royal family watch. The coffin will rest in the Bow Room.

Wednesday, September 14

Am: The Queen’s coffin is adorned with the Imperial State Crown and a wreath of flowers.

2.22 pm: The Queen’s coffin is carried by a gun carriage in a procession from Buckingham Palace to the Palace of Westminster, traveling down the Mall with members of the royal family walking behind. Big Ben will toll and gun salutes will be fired.

3 pm: The coffin arrives at the North Door of Westminster Hall, Palace of Westminster, and positioned in the center of Westminster Hall. A service will be held. For the next few days, the public will be able to travel through and pay their respects.

Friday, September 16

The King and Queen Consort will travel to Wales.

Monday, September 19

10.44 am: The Queen’s coffin is taken in a procession from the Palace of Westminster to Westminster Abbey for her funeral.

11 am: The Queen’s State Funeral begins.

The Queen’s coffin will travel in a procession to Wellington Arch then by car to Windsor

A Committal Service will take place in St George’s Chapel before the Queen is laid to rest.
