Recall that Davido’s son, Ifeanyi, died by drowning on Monday, October 31, eleven days after celebrating his third birthday.
Police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin who disclosed this to BBC on Tuesday, November 1, said reviewing the footage was necessary to gather additional information about the incident that led to Ifeanyi’s death on Monday night.
He said: “We are reviewing the CCTV cameras to get additional information about the circumstances of his death.”
“His body has been deposited in the morgue. We are in touch with his parents. In fact, they were with us last night,” Hundeyin added.
Hundeyin has also confirmed that six out of the eight domestic staff detained over Ifeanyi’s death have been released while the nanny and cook remain in custody.
“I spoke with the DPO and he said the nanny and the cook have been detained. Other domestic workers brought in for questioning were released,” he said.
