The former lawmaker’s death was announced by his younger brother, Alhaji Bashir Okunola, on his Facebook page on Sunday morning.
Although the cause of his death could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report, a source informed that the politician had been battling with diabetes before his demise.
Hon. Okunola represented Ido State constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly from 2007 to 2011.
He was elected into the Assembly on the platform of the All Nigeria People’s Party, ANPP, but later defected to People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
Breaking the sad news on Sunday morning, the deceased younger brother wrote on his Facebook page “Haaaaa egbon why why now you left us so soon. Hon Tirimisiyu olasupo Okunola”.
