RIP! FCMB Bank Founder Is Dead

The founder of First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Mr. Subomi Balogun is dead.

According to reports, the banker died in London, the United Kingdom, on Friday morning.

Balogun, who was Otunba Tunwase of Ijebuland, was aged 89.

Mr. Balogun celebrated his 89th birthday in March.

He started FCMB, a midlevel financial institution in Nigeria, over three decades ago.

As a high-ranking Egba Chief in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, his death has not been officially announced.

However, the family had informed the Awujale of Ijebuland of his death and a formal announcement would be made soon in line with tradition.
