Siju Iluyomade’s Advocacy Yields Results, As More Women Takes Rightful Place In Governance

As Arise Women 2023 tagged #StepUp preparations hot up, Convener of the prestigious Women Advocacy and Empowerment Non-governmental Organization, Dr Siju Iluyomade has expressed her delight with recent recognition being given to Women in governance both at the Federal level and States even the organization plans to push for more at the forthcoming 15th edition of Arise Women slated for October with several lined up activities.

The beautiful Lawyer of over 30 years at the Bar who has been at the forefront of Vanguard for Women taking its rightful place in national development over the years, creating different platforms including Handmaidens [Women in Leadership] WILS, Arise Women, and a couple of other fora for Women to stand up and take up leadership roles.

While expressing her joy with the development, Dr. Siju as she is fondly called, says ” am delighted that our advocacy for more Women to take up a rightful place in governance at the highest level is gradually yielding results, we are not there yet but the little improvement witnessed in number of women in the Federal Executive Cabinet wouldn’t have been achieved if we had kept quiet

It is now on record that the Ministerial nominee list sent to the Senate for screening by the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has a total of Nine Women on the list.

This a swift departure from the past with less than five Women given Ministerial appointment.

According to information made available, this year’s edition of Arise Women Conference activities will begin on the 14th of October with Arise Walk For Life, which will take place in clusters across the Country.

It will be followed by Arise Golf Tournament on the 20th while Arise Football Academy match will hold at the Onikan Stadium on October 21st.

The grand finale of the activities will climax as usual with Arise Women Conference on the 28th of October at the Trinity Towers, City of David, Victoria Island, and other four event centres along the COD road, Dideolu Estate. Lagos State.
