Imam Kashim: All You Should Know About FERMA Chairman Who Tinubu Revokes Appointment

President Bola Tinubu has withdrawn the nomination of Engr. Imam Kashim Imam as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA).

24-year-old Imam was on October 13 appointed by the President “for a renewable term of four (4) years, in accordance with Section 2(3) of the FERMA Amendment Act, 2007”.

The appointment was said to have generated concerns, with many saying he lacked the requisite experience for the job.

Below are few things you should know about him;

  1. Born on the 27th of December, 1998, Engr. Imam had shown promise from a young age.
  2. He had pursued his undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering at Brighton University, where he graduated with first-class honors.
  3. His academic prowess continued as he pursued an MSc with honors at the same University. He completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in August 2022.
  4. Prior to his appointment, he served as a special assistant to Dave Umahi, the minister of works.
  5. His Father, Kashim Ibrahim-Imam, is a Nigerian Politician.
  6. He ran for Borno state governor as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in 2003 and 2007, losing to Ali Modu Sheriff from the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) both times.
