Former Zamfara Governor Bags Most Outstanding Politician of The Year Award

The former Zamfara State Governor, Dr. Bello Mohammad Matawalle at the weekend bagged the Most Outstanding Politician of The Year Award.

The award was bestowed on now the Minister of State for Defense by the organizers of the Nigerian Media Night-Out Awards in Lagos on Sunday, October 29, 2023.

Receiving the award on his behalf, the immediate past Commissioner for Information in the state, Mr Ibrahim Dosara, who spoke shortly after he received the award, stated that the award “signified that my former boss is a very highly responsible, and a good leader in the political terrain of the country.

“This also shows him to be one of the most responsible political leaders in the country and I believe that this would encourage him to do more in terms of providing the dividends of democracy for his people as well as making him feel that he belongs to the society.”

The former Zamfara State Commissioner further stated that the award is one of the fora to boost the morale of the recipient to contribute more to the development of the country.

Mr Dosara seized the opportunity to advise journalists to be up and doing in their reportage, saying “we should all put hands together to build Nigeria for all of us to live in, and make it better for the coming generations.”

He emphasized the need for journalists and the young ones to be honest, and sincere, adding that they should bear it in mind that journalists are expected to go where the common man cannot go and to always fight for the right of the common man.

He also urged them to be good ambassadors in making sure that they achieve positive results and to shun fake news so that they don’t incite Nigerians against one another.

“Furthermore, journalists should endeavour to bring Nigerians together so that we can all live in harmony, peace, and have peaceful coexistence among ourselves. I believe that with this, Nigeria would be united and the focus would be the development of the country,” he concluded.
