The national grid has suffered another collapse, as Nigerians were thrown into darkness on Saturday, January 11, 2024, marking the first time in the year.
According to data obtained from the Nigerian System Operator’s portal (niggrid.org), the collapse occurred at 1:56 pm.
The development makes it the 13th time in the past 13 months, with reports revealing that power generation dropped from 2111.01 megawatts as of 2 pm to 390.20 MW by 3 pm.
Confirming the collapse in a post, The Energy podcast penned: “National grid suffers major collapse… First in 2025.”
The cause of the latest failure is yet to be disclosed.
