1. The Supreme Court on Friday sacked Mr. Juli myus Abure as Labour Party’s National Chairman. The apex court set aside the January 17 judgment of the Court of Appeal in Abuja recognising him as such.
2. A Federal High Court in Abuja has barred parties in the suit filed by suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan against Senate President Godswill Akpabio and three others from granting press interviews on issues relating to the case. Justice Binta Nyako issued the order yesterday following complaint by lawyer to Akpabio, Kehinde Ogunwumiju (SAN).
3. The spokesman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Comrade Tunde Oladunjoye, is dead. He was said to have passed away on Friday after a brief illness. Though there is no official or family confirmation, a post on Oladunjoye’s verified Facebook page confirmed the incident.
4. The Anambra State Government on Friday arraigned three native doctors before a State High Court for alleged involvement in criminal activities. The suspects were Chidozie Nwangwu, popularly known as “Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki”, Onyebuchi Okocha known as “Onye Eze” and Ekene Igboezekwe, popularly known as “Eke Hit”.
5. An 18-seater bus belonging to the Benue state government-owned Benue Links Transport Company, was Thursday evening attacked at Ikobi community in Otukpo Local Government Area, LGA, of the state by suspected armed men who abducted 13 of the passengers after shooting the driver and a passenger who lost their lives in the incident.
6. The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has cleared Governor Chukwuma Soludo as he picked his nomination form for the upcoming primary election in Anambra State. Governor Soludo, who various groups and individuals have endorsed for a second term in office, picked his expression of interest and nomination forms at the APGA National Secretariat in Abuja.
7. Hoodlums suspected to be oil thieves have vandalized the Ogboinbiri/Obiobi 24-inch Gas Pipeline between Angiama and Angiamagbene in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa state. The Ogboinbiri/OB-OB gas pipeline, which is a 24-inch gas pipeline is formerly operated by Nigerian Agip Oil Company but Oando plc had since acquired it.
8. The Mining Marshals have shut down an illegal mining site in the Rafin-Gabas community of Kokona Local Government Area, Nasarawa State. The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, confirmed this in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Segun Tomori, on Thursday in Abuja.
9. Ahead of the All Progressives Congress Anambra governorship primary election scheduled for Saturday, an aspirant, Chukwuma Umeoji has stepped down from the race. The Independent National Electoral Commission had earlier scheduled the party primaries to take place between March 20, 2025, and April 10, 2025.
10. Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, on Friday in Irrua, Esan Central Local Government Area, said the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Asue Ighodalo’s appeal will crash at the Appellate Court. Okpebholo said this while speaking at Okaijesan Town Hall, Irrua, venue for the celebration of his election Tribunal victory hosted by Edo Central leaders.
