Nollywood Actress Dies Of Heart Attack In UK

Nollywood actress Tolani Akintunde has reportedly passed away in the United Kingdom after suffering a heart attack.

According to online reports, Akintunde, who relocated to the UK some years ago with her daughter, died a few days ago.

The sad news was first made public by Seun Oloketuyi, media personality and convener of the Best of Nollywood Awards.

Akintunde, best known for her roles in early 2000s television classics Everyday People and Palace, was a respected figure in the industry before she moved abroad in search of greener pastures. While in the UK, she ventured into business and maintained a low public profile.

Her sudden passing has left fans, colleagues, and family members in shock.

An outpouring of grief has since flooded social media platforms, especially Facebook, where the news of her death was initially announced.

Fans have been sharing heartfelt tributes and fond memories of the late actress.

A Facebook user, Omotayo Elebijo, wrote, “Sun re oo Tola. You will be remembered for making people around you happy.” Another, Kolamartins03, commented, “Rest on, beloved. This is heartbreaking.”

Her daughter, whose identity remains private, is also said to be struggling to come to terms with the loss of her mother.

Tolani Akintunde’s death adds to a growing list of painful losses in the Nigerian entertainment scene in 2025.

In recent months, the industry has mourned other stars, including actress and model Monalisa Stephen, producer Rotimi Raji, and actress Nkechi Nweje, who was laid to rest in Anambra State just days ago.
