ANSEC Introduces Community Collaboration to Protect Government Facilities

The Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) at its ninth session has affirmed the need to protect facilities and key infrastructures of the state through government-community collaboration.

This is part of efforts to ensure that the state remains safe for the citizens and to protect critical infrastructure meant for development and the transformation of Anambra State.

The government-community collaborative initiative is promoting inclusivity as part of the mechanism for safeguarding government facilities all over the state.

According to the State’s Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, the lack of cooperation by any community could eventually lead to the withdrawal of other projects such as the community.

As Governor Charles Soludo is making a giant stride in turning the state to become the Dubai-Taiwan Silicon Valley of the country, where innovation, economic, and business activities thrive, community leaders must take responsibility in safeguarding facilities provided for the use of the people.

It will be recalled that Governor Soludo, in fostering peaceful coexistence in Anambra, has enhanced the state’s security architecture with the Agunechemba security system and Operation Udo Ga-Achi (meaning peace shall reign), to support existing law enforcement agencies in preventing crime.

This is already gaining traction and yielding results. Like thunder, it is now striking criminals and making life unbearable for men and women who have long been giving Anambra State sleepless nights.

In pursuit of the fight against crime, many kidnappers have been arrested and hideouts demolished, with successful raids for criminals at Ozubulu, Isiagu, Oba, and Nnewi, among other places in Anambra.

The eight Local Government Areas, namely Aguata, Ihiala, Ekwusigo, Nnewi North, Nnewi South, Orumba North, Orumba South, and Ogbaru, which were under siege before the advent of Governor Soludo’s government, have also been freed by the security network.

Against this backdrop, Soludo averred that security, law, and order remain pivotal to his administration’s vision of a livable and prosperous homeland.
