The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has reacted to the trending video of popular entertainer Speed Darlington admitting to having s3xual relations with a minor in a hotel.

In a statement released on its X handle, the agency said the entertainer in his video did not mention where the s3xual act took place.

The agency pointed out that its jurisdiction is just within Lagos, so it cannot take any action until the location has been established.

It further stated that it has alerted the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for it to take action.

The statement reads; ‘’The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) is aware of the disturbing video currently circulating online, in which a popular entertainer allegedly admits to engaging in unlawful sexual activity with a minor.

While the individual in question did not specify the location of the incident during the Instagram Live session, we must clarify that the DSVA’s jurisdiction is limited to Lagos State”.

Given the above, and in line with our commitment to justice, we have escalated the situation to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). @naptipnigeria

Recall that Speed Darlington ignited a people’s reaction on social media after he appeared to have admitted to having a sexual encounter with a minor.

The singer detailed the incident in a recent Instagram live session.

In the footage, Darlington appeared to have shared disturbing aftermath details with a 15-year-old girl in a hotel.

“Before they could come change the sheets for me, I dashed am N2000,” he said.

Because the thing dey somehow to tell an adult to come and clean blood that I brought out of the body of a 15-year-old girl. I can never work for anybody, I only work for myself.

The detailed public confession ignited outrage across social media platforms, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), as numerous Nigerians expressed their condemnation of Darlington’s statements, with many labeling him a paedophile and calling for his immediate arrest.

These reactions stem from the fact that in Nigeria, the generally accepted age of sexual consent is 18, although legal variations exist, notably a lower age of consent under the Penal Code Act prevalent in the northern part of the country.
