VIDEO: Woman In Viral Video Giving Her Baby Alcohol Reacts, Says “It Was Coke, Not Alcohol”

A Nigerian woman in a viral video that sparked outrage online has come out to debunk claims that she gave her baby an alcoholic drink.

Reacting to the backlash, she stated, “That thing is Coke, not Action Bitters,” insisting that the drink was harmless and not what people assumed.

The controversial video, which circulated widely last week, showed the woman feeding her five-month-old baby from a sachet labelled “Action Bitters,” with a caption suggesting it was given every night to make the child sleep.

However, in a new video that started trending on Wednesday, the unidentified mother claimed that she did not give her child alcohol but rather Coca-Cola, which she had poured into an empty Action Bitters sachet.

She insisted the act was staged purely for “content” to attract engagement online and said she had video evidence showing when she washed the sachet and filled it with Coke.

To support her claim, she said she had another video showing the moment she filled the sachet with the soft drink.

“About the video I posted earlier, that is not Action Bitters. It is Coke.

I poured Coke into the sachet. Since I posted the video, people have been dragging me on social media,” she said.

“To be sincere, it was Coke I poured into the Action Bitters sachet. I even have a video on my phone showing when I was doing it.

“My baby is just five months old. I would never give her Action Bitters.

I am not that kind of mother. I do not even take it myself.

The mother admitted she underestimated the backlash and said the video was simply a failed attempt at creating viral content.

“To clear the air, it was Coke I poured into the sachet, and I washed it before using it.

I was just trying to create content, nothing more. We are begging Nigerians, please forgive us.”

Recall that in response to the public outcry, the Nigerian Police Force confirmed that it had launched an investigation and is working to identify and locate the woman involved.

Authorities urged the public to share any useful information and assured that the matter is being treated with urgency.
