VIDEO: Hilda Baci To Attempt Another Cooking Challenge, As She Sets To Cook World’s Largest Pot of Jollof Rice
Nigerian chef and Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci, has announced plans to attempt another cooking challenge, as she is set to cook the largest pot of Jollof rice.
In an Instagram post on Friday, the celebrity chef revealed that the historic cooking event would take place on September 12, 2025, in collaboration with seasoning and culinary brand Gino.
She explained that the cooking feat will feature a giant pot measuring six metres wide and six metres tall.
“Almost two years ago, I had the dream to cook the largest pot of Jollof Rice ever made.
And now, with ginonaija and YOU, that dream is coming alive.
“Six meters wide. Six meters tall. On September 12, we make history together. Because what is Jollof without you to share it with?” she wrote.
In an accompanying video, Baci, who rose to international fame after her 2023 Cook-a-thon, described the challenge as a cultural celebration that goes beyond food.
She said, “Some dreams keep us awake until we make them a reality. In 2023, it was the Hildebassi Cookathon that took the world by storm.
“This year, it’s Jollof, the heartbeat of West Africa. A taste that tells our story.
It’s more than cooking. It’s a celebration of our food, our culture, music, and us.
“We’re making history again, and I want you to be there when it happens. Two years ago, I imagined the largest pot of Nigerian Jollof rice the world has ever seen. And today, with Gino, a brand we all grew up with, my dream is becoming a reality.”
Recall that Hilda Baci made headlines in May 2023 after completing a 100-hour cooking marathon in Lagos, a feat that earned her global recognition through the Guinness World Records.
