South Africa, AfroFlavour Partner To Host South African Heritage Day 2025 In Lagos
…As Organisers set to showcase South African and Nigerian culture, building collaboration and cooperation between Africa’s 2 largest economies.
The South African Consulate General, in partnership with Afro Flavour, is set to host the 2025 South African Heritage Day in Lagos.
This was gathered during a media briefing held on Monday,8th September 2025, at the South African Consulate at Heritage Place, Ikoyi.
Speaking at the briefing, the organisers disclosed that the event will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Federal Palace Hotel, 6-8 Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos, and aims to promote cultural exchange, understanding, and cooperation between South Africa and Nigeria.
They added that this year’s event, being the first edition, promises to be an exciting one as it will feature the celebration of South African and Nigerian culture, traditions, and values.
Founder of AfroFlavour, Lucky Idike Jr, while speaking about their partnership with the South African Consulate General, said: ‘‘What began as a dream to spotlight African cuisine has grown into a global mission to position African food as a catalyst for trade, culture, and economic growth. We are proud to be part of that movement.”
Also, Ms.Sebo Lenyai, the Chargé d’Affaires at the Consulate General in Lagos, said: ”South Africa and Nigeria have a long history of collaboration and cooperation dating back to the days of the struggle.
Adding that: ”There is more that binds us than divides us, and together we can make African Union’s Agenda 2063 a reality“.
