1. The United States has revoked the B1/B2 visa of Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka. Soyinka revealed the development during a news conference themed: “Unending Saga: Idi Amin in Whiteface!” held at Kongi’s Harvest Gallery, Freedom Park, Lagos on Tuesday.

2. Barring any last-minute change, the Senate will on Wednesday screen and confirm the nominations of new Service Chiefs submitted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Tinubu had, in a letter transmitted to the Senate, asked the lawmakers to confirm the Service Chiefs.

3. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has cautioned security agencies deployed for the November 8 Anambra governorship election against creating an environment that enables vote buying, warning that the practice undermines democracy and public trust in the electoral process. Sources close to Lamido confirmed that he met with his lawyers on Tuesday and has sworn to an affidavit attached to the originating summons, which is expected to be filed before the Federal High Court on Wednesday.

5. The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Internal Security, Garba Muhammad, revealed on Tuesday that the National Assembly has received threats from terrorists to bomb the complex, stressing the urgent need to strengthen security within the nation’s highest legislative institution.

6. The Naira on Tuesday appreciated to N1,487 per dollar in the parallel market from N1,491 per dollar on Monday. Similarly, the naira appreciated to N1,447 per dollar in the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM).

The Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday dismissed the no-case submission filed by the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, and his two brothers in the criminal case instituted against them by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency. Kyari, alongside his brothers, Mohammed and Ali, is being prosecuted by the NDLEA on 23 counts, bordering on full disclosure of their assets.

8. Thirty-five-year-old Habiba Abubakar and her nine-year-old daughter, Adama, drowned after being involved in a boat accident in Hawul Local Government Area of Borno State. It was learnt on Tuesday that the incident occurred on Saturday, October 26, 2025, at about 1:15 p.m. while they were returning home from the farm.

9. The Police Command in Anambra State has detained four female suspects over alleged trafficking in a week-old baby girl at the Ifite-Awkuzu community in the state. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, made the disclosure in a statement to newsmen on Tuesday in Awka.

10. The Senate, on Tuesday, confirmed the appointment of the nominations of six persons as commissioners for the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC. This followed the presentation and consideration of the report of the Senate Committee on National Planning and Economic Affairs during plenary.
