Police Officer Sacked For Placing Hands On Female Colleagues’ Legs While On Duty

A police Officer has been sacked for placing hands on female colleagues’ legs on duty.

NewsRain Nigeria reports that a police officer has been sacked for inappropriate behaviour against two female colleagues while on duty.

PC Calum O’Loughnane, of the Central North Command Unit of the Metropolitan Police, was found to have acted inappropriately towards the officers, including putting his hands on their legs, according to a disciplinary hearing, which concluded on Friday.

Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart, who leads policing in the Central North area, said: “The behaviour of PC O’Loughnane fell well short of that expected of a serving officer.

“Women deserve to feel safe working at the Met, and there is no place for sexual misconduct in policing.

“We are working hard to make sure anyone who does not reach these standards is removed from the force.”

It was found that PC O’Loughnane had breached the police standards of professional behaviour relating to discreditable conduct.

The accusations against him were so serious that they amounted to gross misconduct, which justified immediate dismissal.

The former officer will be placed on the barred list held by the College of Policing.

This means that he will not be able to seek future employment with the police, local policing bodies, the Independent Office for Police Conduct, or His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services.
