Primate Ayodele has issued a warning ahead 2027 election.

NewsRain Nigeria reports that the Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has claimed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is considering replacing Vice President Kashim Shettima ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

In a statement released by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele reiterated his earlier warning against the Muslim–Muslim ticket, insisting that ignoring the warning has now put the vice president’s position under threat.

He cautioned that removing Shettima in a hostile or controversial manner could backfire politically, warning that such a move may push the vice president to work against the ruling party’s interests.

I warned Tinubu against the Muslim–Muslim ticket, but most people refused to listen,” Ayodele said. “If Shettima is removed acrimoniously, he will work against the interest of the party because there are plans to pick a governor as his replacement.”

The cleric also advised President Tinubu not to consider any of the governors who recently defected to the party, warning that choosing a northern defector as running mate could trigger serious political tension in the region.

If any of the decamping governors from the North is picked, it will cause aggression in the North,” he warned.

Speaking further, Primate Ayodele acknowledged that President Tinubu is performing well but claimed the administration is being threatened by betrayal and hidden opposition from within.

Tinubu is working and doing well, but two things are fighting him: nemesis and betrayal,” he said. “Some people praising him are secretly waiting for his downfall. Money cannot buy loyalty. Some of his aides are also blocking access to those who can truly help him.”

On the issue of insecurity, Ayodele claimed that foreign interests are undermining the government’s efforts, alleging that the United States understands Nigeria’s security structure and knows how to exploit its weaknesses.

No matter the security formation you put together, the US doesn’t like your government. They know where to puncture it because they understand your security secrets,” he added.
