Family and friends are set to hold an 8-day fidau for the late actress, Aunty Ajara.

 

 

NewsRain Nigeria reports that family and friends of late Nollywood actress Ajarat Morenikeji, better known as Aunty Ajara, are holding an 8-day fidau in her honour.

 

Recall that on Wednesday, January 29th, Wumi Toriola had solicited financial support for her goddaughter, Aunty Ajara, revealing that her health condition had become more critical despite all the efforts so far.

On February 5th, the actress passed away after a long and courageous battle with illness. Her colleague shared the sad news, saying that during her difficult period, Ajara received immense love, eaters, and financial support from kind-hearted people across the world.

He expressed gratitude to those who stood by her with prayers, contributions, encouragement, and compassion.

 

The movie star was immediately buried in line with Islamic customs. In clips that went viral, she was wrapped in white fabric, covered with a mat, and then lowered into the grave.

 

In a poster making rounds online, the fidau would be held on Thursday, February 2nd at 4, Terry Grillo Street, Beckley Estate. According to the poster, the actress was 27 years old at the time of her death.

 

During a heated exchange with a critic, Ronke Oshodi revealed that Nollywood stars privately spent N5 million on Ajara’s treatment. Still, her health kept deteriorating, which is why they were seeking public donations.

In a 2024 interview, the popular small-sized actress had narrated how she got pregnant through rape and lost the baby three days after birth. She explained that the rapist was a family friend of her uncle.

 

The sad news is coming while Yoruba Nollywood is still dealing with the loss of Allwell Ademola. Kemi Filani reported on the 27th that the actress had passed away after suffering a heart attack at her residence.

 

The sad news was confirmed by colleagues of the deceased via their respective social media. The likes of Damola Olatunji, Mr Latin, Faithia Williams, and Bidemi Kosoko were the first to mourn her.
