Dangote Refinery Increases Fuel Price Again
Dangote refinery has increased the fuel price again.
NewsRain Nigeria reports that Dangote Petroleum Refinery has restored its ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, to N1,175 per litre, prompting depot owners across several fuel distribution hubs to temporarily suspend sales.
Sources in the downstream sector said depot operators halted transactions shortly after the refinery announced the upward price revision.

Recall that the refinery had earlier reduced the petrol gantry price by N100 to N1,075 per litre on March 10, 2026, from the previous N1,175 per litre.
Following the reduction, depot owners had begun selling the product at an average of about N1,100 per litre before the latest adjustment triggered a pause in trading activities.
Industry sources also confirmed that loading operations at the refinery have been temporarily suspended to enable stock reconciliation and align inventory with the new pricing structure.
A source at the refinery said the price revision was driven by rising global crude oil prices, which have pushed up refining costs.
Benchmark Brent crude prices have climbed from about $91 per barrel to around $100 per barrel, increasing feedstock costs for refiners.
Market participants said pricing decisions by the Dangote refinery often set the tone for depot prices across Nigeria’s downstream market.
As a result, the latest adjustment is expected to influence pricing strategies among fuel marketers and depot operators nationwide.
