Former finance minister Kemi Adeosun’s husband dies at 62.
NewsRain Nigeria reports that Mr Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun, husband of former Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, has died at the age of 62.
The Adeosun family announced his passing in a statement signed by Reverend C. A. Adeosun on behalf of the family, saying he died on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in Lagos.
“It is with profound sorrow, yet in total submission to the will of Almighty God, that the Adeosun family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father, and brother, Mr. Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun, who was called home to glory on Wednesday, 5th August 2026, in Lagos,” the statement read.

Describing the late Adeosun as a respected businessman and committed Christian, the family said he lived a life marked by integrity, generosity and unwavering faith.
“He was a distinguished businessman and a devoted Christian whose integrity, generosity, and steadfast faith touched the lives of all who knew him.
“He lived a life defined by hard work, service to God, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community,” the statement added.
He is survived by his wife, former Minister of Finance Mrs Kemi Adeosun, his children, and his siblings, including Mr Adewale (Wale) Adeosun, Founder of Kuramo Capital, as well as other family members, friends and associates.
The family said it was taking solace in the Christian faith despite the loss.
The family requested privacy as it mourns and said details of the funeral and Christian burial arrangements would be announced later.
“We thank all who have reached out with prayers, condolences, and support.
“May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace in the bosom of the Lord.”
Recall that the deceased’s wife served as Minister of Finance under late President Muhammadu Buhari, from 2015 to 2018.
