According to the statement, Tinubu exonerated himself, advising Nigerians to jettison the news.

He said: “There is a need to set the facts and record straight for fear that such a fake story may be taken on its face value by some unwary and gullible persons.

“Asiwaju Tinubu could not have sponsored the EndSARS protest that has blocked one of the main entries into and out of Lagos and one of the economic arteries of the Lagos State Government. He could also not have sponsored such a protest where he too has been labeled a target by the organizers.

Recall that the EndSARS protest is embarked upon by a section of Nigerian youths to register their displeasure against police brutality in the country.

Despite the fact that the police authority has yielded to their request disbanding the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), the protests still go on nationwide.

Meanwhile, the protest is gaining more ground as notable celebrities, prominent religious leaders, and individuals have started adding their voices in support to the protest.

However, with pockets of violence recorded in some states, a good number of notable people have begun to call on the protesters to return to dialogue with the government.
