ICYMI: Nigeria’s Former Presidential Candidate Dies At 77
Olapade Agoro, a former presidential candidate of the National Action Council, (NAC) has died at the age of 77.
News Rain Nigeria gathered that Agoro, according to family sources died on Sunday morning after a brief illness.
Wife of the deceased, Mrs. Wonuola Olapade-Agoro, who confirmed the news of his death, reportedly said, “It is very true, baba has left. He has left us.”

Also confirming his death, the son of the deceased, Adebo Agoro, said “my father died after a brief illness.”
In the same vein, his daughter, Adeola Agoro wrote in a Facebook post: “Olapade Agoro we are calling you but you’re not answering again.
Dr. Agoro was born on October 9, 1943, at Ajibabi village of Ibadan to Royal Prince of Atapami Dynasty of Itapa Ijesha, Late Omo-Oba Owa ‘Tapa Joshua Alaba Agoro and his wife Late Mother in Israel Dorcas Oyejola Asabi Agoro.
Until his death, Olapade is the spiritual head, Aladura Churches, and Christ Merciful Church.
Recall that In 2018, Olapade Agoro declared his interest in the 2019 presidential election which was later won by Buhari.
In 2019, he contested for the presidential election, further tested the waters on the platform of the National Action Council (NAC), a platform through which he had declared his ambition in 2018 ahead of the poll which was eventually won by President Muhammadu Buhari.
