VIDEO: Super Falcons Reject Payment In Naira, Demand 100k Reward In Dollars

The payment of the Super Falcons’ WAFCON bonuses has taken a new turn, with reports suggesting the delay was not due to negligence by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) but rather a standoff over payment in Naira.
Sports analyst Aron clarified the situation on Arise TV, revealing that the players were offered their allowances but insisted on being paid in dollars.
“The part of the story they are not telling is that these girls were given the money,” Aron said.
“From the grapevine, the NFF proposed paying their total bonuses and camp allowances of $30,000 in Naira at the exchange rate of N1,530.
The players refused, saying, ‘We don’t play in Nigeria. What do we want to do in Naira?’”
Aron added that the NFF suggested sending the funds to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for conversion to dollars before payment, but the process naturally caused a delay.
“So, the fact that they were not paid immediately is not the fault of the NFF,” Aron emphasized.
“Government directives were followed. The NSC sent the money to the NFF. The players refused Naira. It’s kind of embarrassing if you ask me.”
