ENDSARS: Looting, Vandalism Of Public Property Not Culture Of Plateau People – NCPC

The NCPC has said that the Plateau people are not known for looting and vandalism.
News Rain Nigeria reports that the Executive Secretary Of Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), Rev. Yakubu Pam has spoken in defense of the Plateau people following the aftermath of the ENDSARS protests which resulted in looting and vandalization of some government and individual properties by some unknown hoodlums who were suspected to have hijacked the peaceful protest in the State.

Rev. Yakubu described the looting and destruction of properties by hoodlums who hijacked the ENDSARS protest as not the culture of the people of Plateau State.
Rev. Pam on Saturday when he visited the vandalized Secretariat of Riyom and Jos South Local Government  Secretariats, public properties, and the House of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara in Lamingo, Jos North Local Government Area of his state, made the disclosure.
Pam stressed that, for me, this is a very bad development and a set back to the state and Nigeria as a whole. The level of destruction that I have seen in the three local governments of Riyom, Jos South, Jos North, and the House of the former Speaker, Hon. Yakubu Dogara is just bringing out tears in my eyes.
The NCPC Secretary however called on the people of  Plateau State to go back to God and also go back to their decent culture of self-discipline.
He maintained that this ugly incident shows that the devil has taken over the mind of some of our young people noted that it is not in the culture of Plateau people to take part in looting and destruction of properties that does not belong to them”
He stressed further that Plateau and Nigeria have a lot of decent and respected people who have stood for the peace and unity of Nigeria and must not allow this act of criminality to continue.
Rev. Pam, however, charged the youths in his home state to respect their elders, saying is time for them to stop taking what does not belong to them.
Pam also expressed sympathy to those who lost their lives and properties during the looting, particularly the former Speaker, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara.
Rev. Pam said that despite the hunger that is glaring on the people’s faces no one is expected to loot and cart away properties that some individuals have labored for over the years to put in place.
News Rain Nigeria recalled that some irate youths during the heat of the protests in Jos stormed some government offices and innocents individuals warehouse looted them and carted away from some valuable items, both food items and otherwise running into millions of naira.
