Community Policing: Police Recruits 503 Special Constables
Nigeria Police Force has trained 503 Officers on community policing.
News Rain Nigeria reports that the Nasarwa State Police Command has on Monday flag off training of not less than 503 Officers that are saddles with the responsibilities of community policing.
Speaking at the flag off of the program is the State Governor, Abdullahi Aminu Sule, who said the aim of the programme is to enlighten the members of the public on the significant of security with a view to sustain participation, and collaboration of all and sundry in addressing crime related issues in the state.

Governor Sule who was ably represented by his deputy, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe said all hands must be on deck to forestall the development of social economy activities of the State, noted that there must be a collaboration between the citizens of the State and the security agencies in the state to fight criminal elements.
He said: “I want to use this medium to urge members of the public to support the community policing. This will go a long way in fighting crime and criminality in the state and paving way for our social economy activities to strive.
In his keynote addressed the state commissioner of police, Mr. Bola Longe, said the commitment of the command will not allow criminal elements in the state to carry out their henious acts, maintained that the Police will not relent in his efforts towards fighting kidnappers and banditry activities in the State.
Also in his remarks at the campaign, the State Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 4, John Jonah, who stressed that the community policing will exercises the same power and function with convention police to help police tackle insecurity problem in their respective community in the state.
Jonah said 49 constable officers has been trained while 454 are currently under training in Markurdi Benue State, noted that the introduction of community policing will improve level of security situations in the State, maintained that Nasarawa state is one of the best.
