Olubadan Calls For Peaceful Coexistence Among Traders, As Abass Becomes New Babaloja

The Imperial Majesty, the Ajeoguguluso 1,  Oba Saliu Adetunji, the Olubadan of Ibadanland has on Friday, 29th, August 2020 installed one of Ibadan prominent business mogul Cheif Yekini Abass, also known as Y.K Abass as the Babaloja of Ibadanland.

Oba Adetunji while performing all the necessary rites for the newly installed Babaloja, used the occasion to call on the Marketmen and Women in the City and the State at large to embrace peaceful coexistence within themselves.

Olubadan said “peaceful coexistence among the traders can foster development they desire, the highly referred Monarch also urged the traders and residents of the City to always give their best in the interest of all.

The Monarch who describes Y.K Abass as a successful businessman, also said Abass is a sports enthusiast. Olubadan noted that if there’s peace in the market, it means there’s peace for all.

Olubadan made it clear that the experience that the new Babaloja has in business administration will give him an edge, and also be a plus for him to navigate through the occasional disagreement among the market leaders in Ibadanland.

Olubadan further stated that “Yekini Abass is the right and credible individual to lead traders in the state considering the contributions of the new Babaloja to the development of Oyo States.

“The newly installed Babaloja is lucky. His installation is also a success for the entire people of the state.”

Abass expressed the readiness of his members to take the interest of the buyers as important, saying, “In line with the advice given by the Olubadan, as well as the policy of Governor Seyi Makinde’s government, we shall ensure that peace and harmony reign in our midst.”

However, the Minister of Sports, Mr. Sunday Dare, who had visited the monarch, expressed his joy over Olubadan’s 92nd birthday, prayed for Baba to witness more remarkable developments.

He said “As indicated earlier, sports development is critical to the Federal Government, and we would do everything possible to upgrade the existing sporting facilities in the Ibadan. We are ready to partner state governments and other stakeholders as regards to this aspect.”

The roll call at the installation event is the Otun Olubadan of Ibadan, High Chief Lekan Balogun; the Balogun of Ibadan, High Chief Owolabi Olakunleyin, High Chief Kola Adegbola, High Chief Amidu Ajibade, High Chief Eddy Oyewole, High Chief Gbadamosi Adebimpe among others.
