Bayelsa Sets To Re-Open School For Primary Six Pupils

Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State has approved the resumption of school for only primary six pupils in public and private primary schools in the state.
The Governor, who made the disclosure on Saturday in Yenagoa the Capital City of the State, disclosed that the pupils have to resume for fully comes September 7.
Diri in a statement made through the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Education, Walton Liverpool gave the directives that all the heads of public primary schools, inclusive the private school proprietors to work towards the approved re-opening dates.
The statement which stated that “The Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has approved the re-opening of primary six pupils in all public and private primary schools with effect from 7 September 2020.
Recall, that the Bayelsa State had closed all schools in the State since March this year as a measure to curtail the effect of the dreaded Covid-19, but has decided to re-open them on September 7.
The statement further affirmed that “All headmasters of public primary schools and proprietors of private schools are by this announcement directed to resume schools for primary six pupils on 7 September 2020.
“However, COVID-19 materials shall be supplied to all schools through the Ministry of Education before the resumption date.”
