Gunmen have reportedly shot a serving Police Inspector till death.
News Rain gathered that unknown gunmen have reportedly shot a serving Police Inspector till death in an early morning attack, in Ohaifa Local Government Area of Abia State.
The gunmen were said to have critically injured four others as a result of several bullets wound they sustained through the attack.
The wounded police were said to have been currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.

The five affected policemen were reported to be taking cover in a security post beside a bus stop around Okagwe Ohafia junction when they were suddenly attacked by a 12-man armed gang.
The incident which was said to have occurred during an early heavy rainfall today Monday, when the policemen had gone into the makeshift building to avoid the rain before they came under the fierce attack from unsuspected gunmen.
According to a statement that was issued to the effect by the State Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu condemning the attack, requested Abia residents, particularly those running medical facilities in the state “to report any patient who presents with gunshot injuries to the nearest police station or the relevant authority, even at the expense of treating such a patient”.
The statement stated further as thus, “Abia State Government, in conjunction with security agencies in the state, is currently investigating a security breach at Ohafia Local Government Area which led to the death of one police officer and left four others injured.
Kalu through the statement prayed for quick recovery of the injured officers.
He stated that  “our thoughts are with the family and friends of the late gallant officer who lost his life in the course of service to the fatherland”.
It however advised law-abiding citizens to go about their normal duties without fear or apprehension as the government, he emphasized, has taken measures to protect them as well as apprehend the hoodlums as quickly as possible.
