Chukwuemeka Obioma Joins Abia Warriors

Obioma Chukwuemeka has joined Abia Warriors FC of Umuahia.

News Rain gathered that the power playing striker becomes the 9th player that the Umuahia Warriors will unveil in preparation for the new season.

Chukwuemeka joined the club from Heartland FC of Owerri on a season-long deal.

The player who scored six goals for Heartland FC last season was adjudged the best having scored that number from 11 matches he featured before the league ended abruptly in Week 25 due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Obioma started his career with Abia comets. He went on to join Enyimba FC, where he made a couple of appearances before teaming up with Heartland of Owerri

In welcoming Chukwuemeka, Abia Warriors Sporting Director, Patrick Ngwaogu, said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Obioma to our squad. We have been monitoring him for some time and from the analysis, he has strong attributes that we look for in a striker and as a person.”

“We want to create healthy competition for places and we look forward to seeing Obioma bring further depth to the striking position.”

It will be recalled that Chukwuemeka made headlines last season when he struck twice against his former club side (Enyimba FC) in ABA which ensured Heartland FC a big win against Africa two time champions in Aba.
