News Rain reports that Oyo State Police Command has promised residents of the State maximum security, before, during, and after the Nigeria 60th Independent Anniversary, that has will come up tomorrow, October, 1st.

Oyo State Commissioner of Police, CP. Joe Nwachukwu Enwonwu made the disclosure on Wednesday morning through a Press Release that was issued to the effect.
The Press Release which was issued and signed by the State Police Relation Officer, the Superintendent of Police, Olugbenga Fadeyi, which a copy was made available to the News Rain quoted CP. Nwachukwu that adequate security measures have been emplaced ahead of the 1st October 2020 Nigeria’s 60th independence celebration.
According to the Nwachukwu, who used the medium to congratulates all the good people of Oyo State and Nigeria.
CP. Nwachukwu also in the statement said he wishes all Nigerians a fruitful independence celebration of the country’s Diamond Jubilee assured that all Police Tactical teams including the Special Anti-robbery Squad, (SARS), Anti-kidnapping squad, (AKS), Swift Response squad, (SRS), Police Mobile Force 4 and72, Skynet squad, Puff Adder, Federal and Safer Highway Patrol teams, Counter-Terrorism squad, (CTU), etc. have been deployed to all nooks and crannies within and outside Ibadan metropolis to provide adequate security for a hitch-free celebration.
He stated further that, “In the same vein, the CP wishes to advise members of the public to be wary of criminal elements that may be bent on carrying out their evil intentions during this period to maim/rob innocent citizens of their hard-earned money/property.
He equally stressed that in view of the security challenges, the criminal-minded individuals in our midst are obviously deploying all kinds of strategy, tactics, and means to carry out their nefarious activities.
Oyo Police CP, however, maintained that the Command is battle-ready for any individual or groups that may want to cause any form of threat to the peaceful coexistence that the State enjoyed.
He said, “Nonetheless, the CP averred that the Police in Oyo State Police Command are battle-ready and will not relent in our efforts to protect lives and properties of the citizenry and ensure that they operate and carry out their lawful businesses in a safe and secured environment.
