News Rain Nigeria gathered that the musician announced the cancellation via his Twitter handle.

“As a Marlian we will give them a week to see the changes and if there are no changes we will start a mass protest. #togetherwecan,” he tweeted.

Also in a tweet, the police said the Inspector General of Police wishes to inform the Nigerian youths that their voices and complaints on the issues of unprofessional conduct of some SARS operatives have been heard very loudly and clearly.

It can be recalled that Naira Marley whose real name is Azeez Adeshina Fashola has earlier planned a protest today to kick against brutality allegedly done by the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), an agency of the Nigeria Police.

News Rain Nigeria has earlier reported that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, on Sunday ordered the ban on the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad from carrying out routine patrols.

The IGP has equally warned, that henceforth, the Commissioner of Police in charge of FSARS, Commissioners of Police in charge of State Commands and the FCT as well as their supervisory Zonal Assistant Inspectors General of Police, will be held liable for any misconduct within their Area of Responsibility.
